Since our inception in 1981, UBF has helped local, grassroots service agencies in Greater Cleveland by providing them with financial assistance for their programs. We fund over 80 nonprofit agencies annually, and these agencies serve thousands of children, families and seniors.
With 40 years of experience in Cleveland alone, we are taking on additional roles while leading initiatives that combine funders and service providers with public and private organizations.
UBF’s primary purpose is to strengthen the capacity of organizations and agencies that serve African American and impoverished communities by increasing their access to funding.
